CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: No Filter’s Christmas Zine
No Filter will be launching our first physical zine in December. The theme is: CHRISTMAS.
We want submissions in non-fiction writing, photography, art and illustration.
Non-fiction writing
You can write under four categories: Recollections, revelations, rants or raves. Just make sure it’s at the very least honest, at the very most offensive, and anywhere in the middle works too.
Please submit between 1 and 3 photographs or illustrations alongside your writing. Word count is between 500 and 2000 words.
Photography
Submit your photography in high-res and with credit details alongside a short caption of between 50 and 200 words. The images can fall under the same four categories – recollections, revelations, rants or raves. If you’re not sure it fits, don’t worry we’ll figure it out together.
Art and illustration
We just want some nice looking illustration/art in the zine, tbh. Send us your stuff with credit details and an optional caption between 50 and 200 words.
Deadline for submissions is spooky October 31st. It’s early because we have no idea how the hell to print a zine.
There will be a launch event in Berlin in early December (location TBC) where we will enjoy beer, bants and some brave contributors will read out their work.
The zine will be for sale online and (hopefully) in various edgy stockists in Berlin in early December so you can buy copies for friends and family and your mum can read all about that Christmas eve when you shat yourself at your mates house and wiped your arse with a towel and threw it out the window and it got caught in a tree like a sort of pooey SOS signal. You can also write about serious stuff.
We’ll be hosting a No Filter writing workshop in Berlin on the evening of Thursday October 5th for anyone who wants to write but is unsure what to write about. We’ll work on ideas, do some writing and drink some wine. Click attending on the event if you would like to join.
Sadly we can’t pay contributors yet but every cent that is made from the sale of this zine will go towards paying contributors retrospectively and towards the next zine.
